Rob Zinn(feat. Ragan Whiteside) Push It Forward

Randis Music

Rob Zinn has been making albums since 2016 with his debut project Yesterday Again and followed it up with Walk The Walk in 2018. He’s had a slew of single releases and even teamed up with Johnny Britt and Walter Beasley to form BBZ for the Brass Attack BBZ release Brassetude. Each time out Rob demonstrates his ability to score chart success, the latest was 2020’s single Take That.

2022 is a new year and brings a new collaboration as Rob teams up with chart topping Ragan Whiteside and her producing team (Dennis Johnson & Bob Baldwin) for a fresh sound and new label association. Robb is the first release on Whiteside’s Randis Music and well, as the title says they are ready to Push It Forward. This upbeat, danceable track show-cases the melodic improvisational skills of both musicians with a clever call and response segment between Rob’s soaring trumpet and Ragan’s cool flute. This programmer believes listeners will be pleasantly surprised when they push play on their listening devices. Let Jamal Ahmad know what you think when you hear this on the SOUL of Jazz with Jamal Ahmad Monday-Friday 2p-7p on Atlanta’s Jazz Station.

David C Linton is WCLK's Program Director. Since assuming the position in 2018, he's led Jazz 91.9 WCLK to record-setting ratings and expanded its listening audience. Linton's expertise in both NPR & commercial radio has benefited WCLK. He views WCLK as more than an Atlanta institution but a global media outlet for Jazz. He's enhanced the stations weekend line up by developing Saturdays with Ragan Whiteside and adding producer Bob Baldwin's Nu Urban Jazz Lounge to the Saturday afternoon line up. He reshuffled the Sunday Jazz offerings to provide a unique Mainstream Jazz listening experience on Sundays including the addition of Mainstream and Modern hosted by Rob Maynard. He also added Broadcast Hall of Famer Rick Joyner to the weekday line up as host of Serenade to the The City. He also programs WCLK's HD2 channel which offers Mainstream Jazz 24/7, available at wclk.com
