David Benoit: A Midnight Rendezvous

Shanachie Entertainment

Some artists just get better with time and others show no signs of slowing down. Well David Benoit checks both boxes as he kicks off 2022 with the release of the single A Midnight Rendezvous(Shanachie Entertainment). The three time Grammy nominated pianist’s career began in 1977 and includes 40 solo recordings over the past 40 years. He’s popular for film and television compositions, as well as the Broadway play Something’s Got to Give about the life and times of Marilyn Monroe. A Midnight Rendezvous sets the tone for a meeting true to its title. The songs soft tones will put the listener in the mood for whatever adventure the night calls for when you are with that special someone. It has just enough tempo at the right time but not too much to break the mood. If you are in the mood for A Midnight Rendezvous, then check this one out with Rick Joyner on Serenade to The City nightly at 10pm on Atlanta’s Jazz Station.

David C Linton is WCLK's Program Director. Since assuming the position in 2018, he's led Jazz 91.9 WCLK to record-setting ratings and expanded its listening audience.
