Hank Bilal feat Gerald Albright: Keep Holding On

Hank Bilal, Jr. has been releasing songs on a fast pace in 2022. His most recent Don’t Stop Believing, although it did not explode or race up the charts, did help build his fan base. This programmer can tell by the number of inquiries we got from listeners when the song aired. Believe it or not that’s what makes WCLK different. We are not chart watchers when it comes to music selection. Chart visibility helps the artist’s profile but what best connects with our audience is our primary focus. It’s customary for stations to take a “wait and see” attitude when a new song is released by an artist that follows one that didn’t meet the expectations of the label or artist from a business perspective. However, that’s not how we program. We let each song make a case for itself, we don’t need charts or label hype.

This time Hank the trombonist has teamed up with Gerald Albright for another song of hope. Gerald has been red hot in 2022 with two number one songs (Crazy and its follow up G-Wiggle). The combination of Hank’s trombone and Gerald’s signature sound delivers a song we believe will be the final piece to the puzzle as Hank seeks chart notoriety. This song will categorized as an inspirational song. However, if you look at it as a comforting song the world needs to hear, it cannot be limited. Therefore, you may hear Keep Holding On when you listen to Joy In The Morning with Rodney Evans or during Serenade To The City with Rick Joyner weeknights at 10pm on Atlanta’s Jazz Station 91.9 WCLK.
