Today's UPFRONT Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry features my conversations with CAU Basketball Headcoach George Lynch, rising filmmaker Stefon Bristol and multi-media personality Jasmine Sanders.
Former L.A. Lakers star turned Headcoach George Lynch is here to chat about his annual fundraiser Arts for Athletes. The event takes place on Friday, May 31 from 5 pm to 10 pm and features live and silent auctions, a roundtable discussion with professional athletes, cocktails and dancing. Originally launched by former CAU Headcoach and NBA veteran Darrell Walker, Arts for Athletes allows coaches to provide much-needed and valuable resources for the players including equipment, meals and tutors.
UPFRONT also caught up with filmmaker Stefon Bristol who was in town this week for the Atlanta premiere of his new Netflix sci-fi adventure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MVRWQ1PnMo">See You Yesterday. The story is grounded in familial love, cultural divides and the universal urge to change the wrongs of the past. Bristol opens up about the inspiration behind the film's story, working with the film's producer and Oscar-winning film icon Spike Lee and the cameo from Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox.
Closing out the show is my one-on-one with media maven Jasmine Sanders. The co-host of The DL Hughley Show talks about transitioning from radio to televison and how she connected with DL Hughley. She also opens about being a foster child and how she has used her media platform to promote National Foster Care Month. Sanders is also working on a book and much more.
UPFRONT airs every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. on WCLK and WCLK.com. It is hosted by yours truly Ray Cornelius and features the biggest and brightest names in TV, film, music, fashion and the performing arts.
