November 6-8: Academy Theatre in the Park featuring Giwayen Mata and more

The Academy Theatre is taking its series of fall performances outdoors to beautiful Jess Lucas Y-Teen Park (680 S. Central Ave.) in historic downtown Hapeville. The series includes two plays performed by the talented actors of the Academy Theatre, concerts by the band Back in the Saddle and Sounds that Inspire, and performances by City Gate Dance Theatre and Giwayen Mata – the All Sistah Dance, Percussion & Vocal Ensemble.

In partnership with the city of Hapeville, this series of events is open to the public and free of charge to attend. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase. Social distancing and masks required. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own table and chairs. (Note: Hapeville Main Street Western Day will be held at Hapeville Corner Tavern.) Ray Cornelius is one of Atlanta’s newest entertainment writers and media personalities. With nearly 20 years of media experience, Cornelius has also worked as an associate producer for the Emmy-winning public affairs program, ATL Insider and with such award shows as The Soul Train Awards, The Trumpet Awards and BET Hip-Hop Awards.
