"A Love Supreme: The (Rhetorical) Legacy of John Coltrane"

"A Love Supreme: The (Rhetorical) Legacy of John Coltrane"
Dr. Earl H. Brooks, Assistant Professor of English and Associate Director of the Dresher Center for the Humanities, will be lecturing on John Coltrane alongside a performance of Coltrane's music by Emory Jazz Studies Director, Dr. Gary Motley, and the Emory Jazz Ensemble. Dr. Brooks has just published the book On Rhetoric and Black Music, which argues that “there would have been no Harlem Renaissance, Civil Rights Movement, or Black Arts Movement as we know these phenomena without Black music."
The performance is free and open to the community. Refreshments will be provided. RSVP here: https://forms.office.com/r/RwgUq5Xxjv.
