Historic Big Bethel AME Church to Host Annual Palm Sunday Concert Featuring the Renowned Clark Atlanta University Choir
ATLANTA, GA — Big Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, a cornerstone of the historic Sweet Auburn district, proudly announces its annual Palm Sunday Concert, hosted by Usherette Board #2. It’s Senior Pastor is Rev. Dr. Jonathan Augustine. This year’s sacred musical celebration will take place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 4:00 PM in the church’s historic sanctuary.
The 2026 concert features the award-winning Clark Atlanta University (CAU) Choir. Known for their impeccable precision and soul-stirring renditions of spirituals, anthems, and contemporary gospel, the CAU Choir—the Philharmonic Society—continues a long-standing tradition of musical excellence that has graced national stages from the NBA All-Star Game to the White House.
“We are honored to welcome the Clark Atlanta University Choir to our sanctuary for this cherished tradition,” said President Carolyn Smith of Usherette Board #2. “As we begin Holy Week, this concert serves as a powerful reminder of the resurrection and the hope it brings to our community. It is more than a performance; it is a spiritual experience.”
The Palm Sunday Concert has been a hallmark of the Atlanta faith community for over 60 years, bringing together music lovers and worshippers from across the metropolitan area. Set against the backdrop of Big Bethel’s iconic “Jesus Saves” steeple, the event promises an afternoon of inspiration and reflection.
