For over 40 years Atlanta has committed city resources to hosting the Atlanta Jazz Festival, one of the nation’s largest free jazz festivals. Produced by the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs and funded through the support of corporate sponsorships as well as Atlanta Jazz Festival, Inc., a non-profit entity dedicated to preserving the legacy of the festival.

The Atlanta Jazz Festival is an annual celebration of the music, culture and art of jazz and begins in April and culminates each Memorial Day weekend.

In addition to the Atlanta Jazz Festival, The City of Atlanta partnered for many years with the Montreux Jazz Festival based in Switzerland to host an annual fall Jazz and Music Festival as well.

This exhibition pulls together the posters used to promote the festivals and highlights the extraordinary artists and designers who created a legacy of poster designs that have become sought after collectibles around the world.
