The Local Take Talks Interfaith Children's Movement, Ecumenical Thanksgiving Celebration

The Local Take speaks with Pamela Perkins Carn, coordinator of the Interfaith Children's Movement (ICM), about the organization being honored at this year's Ecumenical Thanksgiving Celebration at
Temple Kol Emeth in Marietta.

The Children's Interfaith Movement works with faith based and community organizations in supporting the children who live on the margins in our communities. Pamela Perkins Carn explains that ICM advocates on behalf of Georgia's children at the policy and at the services levels.

The annual Ecumenical Thanksgiving Celebration in Marietta is an annual event happening for the 11th year.  The celebration has featured multiple faith congregations giving thanks and celebrating what unites us as opposed to what divides us. This year's celebration's theme is "teach your children well about other religions."   Eighteen different Atlanta-area congregations are on the organizing committee and others will take part.  The public is invited to attend. This annual event takes place Thursday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Temple Kol Emeth, 1415 Old Canton Road, Marietta, GA 30062.
