Traveling By Car For Thanksgiving? Gas Prices Are Down

Holiday drivers can expect low prices at the pump this Thanksgiving.  A gallon of gas was at a four-year high of two-dollars-and-90-cents in October but has plummeted since then because of growing oil supplies.  AAA says the national average Wednesday was $2.68 per gallon.  Prices could drop even further by the Thursday.  More than 54-million Americans are expected to travel at least 50 miles for Thanksgiving.  According to Google, the best day to leave for the holiday is Thanksgiving Day at 6 a.m. With over 30 years of traffic experience here in Atlanta, I expect the roads to be very crowded during the Wednesday evening commute! Georgia DOT has suspended all construction and roadwork over the Holidays. If you would like an update on existing roads that are already closed, click the link http://www.dot.ga.gov/  it will take you to the DOT website for an update.
