Saturday morning at eight on WCLK's The Local Take I will speak with Shannon James about the upcoming Aerotropolis City 2020 Virtual Career Fair. This event takes place on Thursday, September 10 from 10am until 2pm. James is the President and CEO of the Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance.
I ask James to tell us exactly what is Aerotropolis Atlantaand to provide information on Airport Cities. Aerotropolis Atlanta is the 20-mile radius around Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, including South Fulton and Fayette Counties and the cities of Forest Park, Jonesboro and more. This new business corridor is anchored by the airport. The businesses include not only those in the airport but all of those in that 20-mile radius. Aerotropolis Atlanta is providing a strategic regional plan for the growth of this area.
The virtual career fair is taking place on September 10th between 10AM - 2PM. James shares that they have partnered with Metro Atlanta Industry Partners and Goodwill of North Georgia. Although virtual, the fair will look and feel like a traditional career fair. There will be booths, on-site interviews and training information.
Over thirty companies are participating with jobs for professionals and entry level opportunities. James mentions that both full-time and part-time opportunities will be available.
