The Local Take talks COVID-19 Testing at Good Samaritan Health Center

This week on The Local Take, I speak with Breanna Lathrop, Chief Operations Officer at Good Samaritan Health Center on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway NW. She came to talk to us about COVID-19 testing available daily at the health center.

I ask her about her book on healthy neighborhoods, which spoke about the health disparities that negatively impacted our communities. The Pandemic has only exacerbated those disparities.

Lathrop shares that Good Sam is testing for COVID-19 daily and why people need to get tested.  She speaks about community spread impacting people who follow the guidelines, and that testing is the best way to prevent further spread. Should you get tested more than once? Lathrop says that if you think you were exposed, have a sore throat, or know that something is off, that is reason enough to get tested.
To get tested at Good SAM, anyone can call 404-523-6571 and follow the prompts. They are using the rapid results test.

I ask what else is going on at Good SAM and Lathrop speaks about the farm and a market providing fresh produce at the center.
