Nancy Pitra, Associate State Director for Advocacy at AARP-Georgia joins us on WCLK's The Local Take this week to talk about this event and other resources and access.
Nancy Pitra shares that AARP continues to host state and national telephone Town Halls to share information with their members. They’ve included everything imaginable, even a finance conversation with Suzy Orman. Additionally, they have a dedicated team that continually updates their website on a dedicated COVID19 page.
Those aged 50+ who may not be as internet savvy, AARP offers a Vaccination Hotline at 1-888-457-0186.
She encourages everyone to stay informed as protocols begin to change with increased vaccination.
I ask how she came to be associated with AARP after working as a senior citizens advocate for legal groups. She explains that she is the newest member of the AARP-Georgia office. She speaks to her passion that older citizens can age independently and stay healthier longer.
