About Theresa Hightower

Theresa Hightower will always be regarded as one of the great jazz and blues vocalists, actresses, and songwriters of her generation. She was a veteran of concert halls, recordings, cabaret, musical theater, stage, and screen. Both critics and audiences have marveled at her range, vocal phrasing, and exciting live performances, as well as her capacity to embody and bring life to the characters she portrays on screen and on stage. She is one of only a handful of jazz artists, Cleo Laine among them, to win critical success in the fields of both Jazz and Musical Theater.

Theresa has gained a reputation as a warm and personable performer.  Promoters all over the world were especially thrilled with her ability to pack any room or arena where she is performing.  As a national and international touring artist, Theresa was heralded by members of the press for her exciting stage presence and universal audience appeal calling her performances “dazzling, riveting, and a knock out”.

Ms. Theresa Hightower-our friend, our teacher, our heart, our everything has made her transition on October 10, 2018. She lived a full life and we're glad to know that she had a positive impact on many lives and left a lasting impression in the city of Atlanta and beyond.  SHE LIVED, LOVED, PERFORMED, TAUGHT, LAUGHED, ENGAGED... LIKE NO OTHER.
