Bassist Byron Miller returns with Real Love, a beautiful song that’s just right for those summer nights or any night for that matter if you have the right companion. The song features Stevie Wonder on harmonica, an opening that sets the tone as Walter Beasley’s saxophone brings his signature sound to compliment Byron’s bass style.
The result is a song that you will find hitting repeat or “looping’ because it’s just that sweet and smooth. Byron has come a long way from his debut at age 19 on George Duke’s Reach For It but who could be surprised if he was chosen to play with a master like Duke. Now the “Psychobass,” his nickname from the Duke days, returns with a sound that’s not crazy at all-- it's just good! Check it out on Midday Jazz with Rivablue weekdays 10a-2p on Jazz 91.9 WCLK.
David C. Linton is Jazz 91.9 WCLK Program Director and host of Serenade To The City, heard Monday-Friday at 10pm.
