The Local Take Talks Moms Clean Air Force with Heather Toney

This past Saturday morning at eight on WCLK's The Local Take we featured a conversation I had earlier in the Spring with Heather Toney, National Field Director of  Moms Clean Air Force.  Ms. Toney was interested in presenting their research document on the disproportionate way that air pollution impacts our community and heightened concern. This is one of the underlying reasons that our communities suffer from respiratory diseases like, asthma, COPD and COVID19.

Toney shares that Moms Clean Air Force is a national organization with a mission to combat pollution for the future of their children. Over 1 million Moms and Dads from across the country have joined forces to ensure that children in our country have safe air and water.

Toney also says that Moms are a force to be reckoned with, I reminded her of the MADD - Mom Against Drunk Driving which changed our culture on driving under the influence.  I mentioned the Clean Air Act of 1970 and asked if our focus on the importance of clean air had changed. Are any of these battles ever over?

She shares that listeners can get involved on the MOMS CLEAN AIR FORCE , there are lists of petitions and other actions for immediate participation.
