Jazz 91.9 WCLK, Morning Jazz Announcer, Morris Baxter, makes a much anticipated return to the airwaves on Monday, September 21. Baxter comes back to the Morning Jazz post after a lengthy illness and recovery period. Morning Jazz airs on Jazz 91.9 WCLK, weekdays from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
“It is with tremendous excitement that I return to the air chair,” says Morris Baxter. “My colleagues at WCLK and the WCLK family of listeners helped me so much through this journey. I am forever grateful.” Baxter suffered a diabetic shock last April and has been undergoing extensive treatment to address diabetes complications.
Baxter first came to Jazz 91.9 WCLK as the Morning Jazz announcer in 2007. Since that time, Morris has developed a dedicated following of listeners who not only rely on him for dynamic Jazz music but also for his daily Morris Motivations.
Baxter’s return comes ahead of the Jazz 91.9 WCLK Fall membership campaign which takes place October 2 through 8. During the Jazz 91.9 WCLK membership campaign listeners are invited to join or renew their pledge of support to WCLK, a National Public Radio (NPR) affiliate station.
