Rivablue Artist Spotlight: Derrick Hott Soss Cummings

Derrick "Hott Soss" Cummings is a world renowned guitarist who has played with artists such as Patti Labelle and Brian McKnight. Born and raised in Orlando, Florida. Hott Soss began to play guitar at the age of 13 and quickly realized that he had found his love. After years of traveling around the world and playing for various artists from a wide range of musical genres, Hott Soss began his commercial music career when he played for major recording artists such as Brian McKnight and Patti Labelle from 1998-2013. These opportunities led Hott Soss to opportunities that allowed him to perform all over the globe. Hott Soss has performed in venues such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Essence Festival, the Umbria Jazz Festival and Carnegie Hall. In addition, he has made television appearances on shows including The Ellen Degeneres Show, the Rosie O'Donell Show, The Soul Train Awards and others. Currently Hott Soss has embarked upon the road to pay homage to one of his musical idols, Jimi Hendrix. In doing this, Hott Soss has consistently infused Jimi Hendrix covers and stylings into his music as well as debuting his own independent projects that he has performed around the world.
