This weekend's edition of UPFRONT Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry is all about #BlackExcellence and the power of #Perseverence. It features my conversation with therapist and life coach---Spirit---plus TV, film and stage phenom Russell Hornsby and ATL's own Crystal Fox.
Spirit is teaming up with OWN for a new scripted series titled Love Goals. The show airs TONIGHT at 9 a.m. and features five celebrity couples who are at a crossroads in their marriage and seek out Spirit for guidance and therapy. The Morris Brown College alumnus and popular Atlanta media personality talks to UPFRONT about this not being your "average" reality series" and its much needed spotlight on black mental health.
Acclaimed actor Russell Hornsby is having the time of his life on NBC's newest hit series Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector. The one-hour drama is based on the hugely successful book series and popular 1999 film that featured Denzel Washington. Hornsby talks to UPFRONT about finally being "confident" in his talents and abilities and the rewards for "putting in the work" and establishing a firm foundation. Check out our full-unedited conversation below:
Closing out the show is my interview with Atlanta's own Crystal Fox. She talks to UPFRONT about her current moment in the spotlight and the power of perseverence. She also opens up about her role as Janice Kennedy in the new indie film Burden and why this story is so timely.
