This weekend's edition of UPFRONT Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry was all about the 2019 Academy Award nominations that were announced earlier this week. I assembled a team of industry professionals to discuss our favorite nominees, snubs and predictions for the big night.
The panel consisted of Edward Adams, film critic from the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA), Deidre McDonald, Artistic Director of the Oscar qualifying BronzeLens Film Festival and Eric J. Little, accomplished actor and CAU Theatre Professor.
I also got a chance to speak to Oscar nominee and film icon---SPIKE LEE. He stopped by CAU's Mass Media Arts Department this week and lectured future filmmakers and content creators about the "business" of Hollywood and "putting in the work." I was able to pull him away for a brief conversation about his historic "Best Director" nomination for the movie---Blackkklansman and much more.
It was the best 25 minutes of 2019 so far. Check out the show below + the full un-edited version of my interview with Spike Lee.
UPFRONT Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry is produced by WCLK 91.9 and airs every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. It is hosted by yours truly Ray Cornelius.
