The Local Take is talking with Atlanta Business League 88th Annual Meeting with their Board Chairman Al Edwards. Edwards is the founder and CEO of CERM, an engineering consulting firm here in metro Atlanta. The Atlanta Business League is celebrating its 88th Annual Meeting. This year’s event will be a hybrid event on 16th at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis and online. The Atlanta Business Leagues is one of the oldest business organizations in Atlanta, predating the Chamber of Commerce.

Edwards shares that the Annual Meeting is an opportunity to give thanks and celebrate their members, sponsors, and team. This year Andrella Kenner, CEO of C1Squared Aviation, will be inducted into the ABL Hall of Fame.

The Atlanta Business League will also award the Booker T. Washington Legacy Award to Lonnie Saboor from Invest Atlanta. Edwards says there are only four others that have received this award.

I ask Edwards about the panel discussion that will address how the “gig economy” impacts business owners. He explains that the great resignation affects small business owners as well as corporations. For those interested in attending virtually, go to the ABL Facebook Page.
