Throughout February Atlanta's Jazz Station 91.9 WCLK will present Black History Moments, focusing on key stories, organizations and people that made a difference.

Start Something: Activism and the Atlanta Student Movement records how students from Atlanta University, Clark College (now Clark Atlanta University), The Interdenominational Theological Center, Morris Brown College, Morehouse College and Spelman College joined forces to create the Atlanta Student Movement.  These students developed nonviolent boycotts, sit ins, picket lines and, marches that left Atlanta officials with no choice except to desegregate stores and public facilities.

The Power to Inspire 2015 Human Rights Summit takes place on Tuesday, May 5 through Wednesday, May 6 at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta, GA. The summit’s goal is to shine a light on current pressing human rights issues and solutions from those who are working for their eradication.  Panel discussions include environmental justice, ending human trafficking and lessons from the Atlanta Student Movement.
