Kandace Springs

Blue Note Recording Artist Kandace Springs' music has had a home on Atlanta's Jazz Station 91.9 WCLK from her very first recordings. She's been by the station a few times, and has family in Atlanta. We're all happy with her ongoing success. She is the final performer of the weekend on the Oak Hill Stage at the 42nd Atlanta Jazz Festival tonight at 7:30pm. As always, this event is open to the public. So come on down and dig one of the up and coming singer-songwriters contemporary Jazz has to offer. Kandace called up Jamal Ahmad to talk about her career, and her AJF performance.

The Atlanta Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs is proud to present The Atlanta Jazz Festival---May 25-26 at historic Piedmont Park from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Founded by the late Maynard Jackson, The Atlanta Jazz Festival promotes the art form that originated in the south. It also celebrates jazz legends and features up-and-coming jazz performers in venues throughout the metro area.

Singer-songwriter Kandace Springs is a fresh new voice in contemporary Jazz. WCLK has played her music from the beginning, and she is a part of tonight's sold-out WCLK Benefit Concert at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. She stopped by the station this morning to talk about it all with Morris Baxter, including the influence of vocalists such as Nina Simone, Norah Jones, Eva Cassidy and Luther Vandross on her style.
