Saturday morning on WCLK's The Local Take we welcomed back Mack Willis, founder of Summerset Assisted Living Center. We speak about families coming together for the holidays and realizing that it might be time to seek assistance for seniors in the family.  

This week on WCLK's The Local Take(Saturdays 8am) I speak with April Washington, Public Affairs Officer for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. We talk about the upcoming Open Enrollment period which runs from October 15 thru December 7.  She shares with us that everyone should review the new options especially the advantage plans. She mentions that there are over 127 plans and many at no additional cost.

Saturday morning at 8am on WCLK's The Local Take, in support of National Health Center Awareness Week, I speak with Tyrone Cox, General Manager of the Georgia Market for JenCare Senior Health Centers.  JenCare is a family-owned primary and specialty care practice for Medicare-eligible seniors.  Their centers provide a holistic integrative approach to medical care. 

Saturday morning at 8am on WCLK's The Local Take I speak with Yvette Cantrell from Bridgebuilders about their upcoming conference on Preparing for Caregiving, taking place on Saturday, July 20 from 9am until 2pm at the Dennard Conference Center at Atlanta Technical College. 

This week on The Local Take I speak with Mary Newton, Volunteer Services Coordinator Area Agency on Aging at the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) about RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) a senior volunteer opportunity. 

The RSVP volunteer services program provides all topic trainings free-of-charge and also community presentations are free-of-charge.

Ms. Newton explains that seniors (55+) have a wealth of information to share on various subjects.
