New Music: Norman Brown-The Highest Act Of Love

Feb 21, 2019

Atlanta Resident Norman Brown has been playing guitar since he was an eight year old in Shreveport, Louisiana. He has taken his early influences of Jimi Hendrix, The Isley Brothers and Wes Montgomery and fashioned a musical career that has generated number one chart hits, collaborations with Kirk Whalum and Rick Braun(BWB), and even bed music for the local forecasts on The Weather Channel. His latest release on Shanachie Entertainmment is called The Highest Act of Love, and drops this week.

For close to two decades we've been supporting the music of Anthony David on Jazz 91.9 WCLK. His rootsy, acoustic soul & R&B sound has captivated the hearts and ears of our listeners and even those of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. He's back with a new record coming out September 21 on Shanachie Entertainment entitled Hello Like Before: The Songs Of Bill Withers and it's a return to his down home musical roots. I had the opportunity to sit with him recently and talk in great detail about this project.
