Kim Waters: Feels Like Friday Night

Shanachie Entertainment

Whenever I get a Kim Waters release I recall his first release Sweet N Saxy in 1989 on my friend Adam Levy’s Warlock Records. Everyone was so excited about this Jazz artist he had signed. This was a time when you could still hear Jazz on mainstream R&B radio stations. However, the biggest surprise was Warlock, a Hip Hop label, signed a Jazz artist.  When I heard Kim I immediately got it.  Well in 2021, I still get it as Kim Waters releases Feels Like Friday Night (Shanachie Entertainment), the latest single from his 24th full length release Shakedown.  This song celebrates the weekend and you can get that Friday feeling everyday when you hear Kim’s latest during Morris In the Morning on Jazz 91.9 WCLK.
