Jamal Ahmad Talks With Sheila E While In Atlanta

Ray Cornelius
Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall awards Sheila E a proclamation from the City of Atlanta on this past Friday, July 15 declaring July 16 as Sheila E. Day in the City of Atlanta.

Sheila E. has been very prominent in the world of media after the passing of her dear friend, Prince Rogers Nelson.  She took it to the stage and gave the world an awe-inspiring tribute to him on the 2016 BET Awards, showing us all that she's more relevant than ever.   I was so honored to be able to speak to her on The S.O.U.L. Of Jazz proceeding her appearance at the Atlanta Funk Festival.   She spoke of her upbringing in Oakland, California, growing up in an immensely talented musical family and the influence from her mentor, Prince.

You can find out more about Sheila E's visit to Atlanta by reading Ray Cornelius' coverage of the event here.
