TeKay Brown-Taylor is a small business owner who has worked with the State of Georgia Department of Administrative Services around the certification and procurement process. She speaks about House Bill 128 passed in the last legislative session.

House Bill 128 streamlines the process for minority, women, and veteran-owned businesses to obtain certification to do business with the State of Georgia. The initiative goes into effect in January 2024. TeKay Brown-Taylor, the owner of Brownstone Mediation Services LLC, has been working with the Department of Administrative Services for the State of Georgia and joins us to speak about her experience.

Brown-Taylor speaks to the process taking a long time, and at times she found it overwhelming, but she gained her certification. She launched her business five years ago and specializes in Human Resources and business resolutions. When asked about advocacy Brown-Taylor speaks to a team of people at the DOAS who assisted her in the process. She spoke about training, networking, and introduction to other agencies.
