Bilal Shareef, with Ghanain Youth during The Year of Return. He is now working with real estate developers who are creating opportunities to invest in ventures in Senegal and Ghana. All financial investments carry risk; do your research before making a financial commitment.

In 2019, I met Bilal Shareef on the NAACP Year of Return Pilgrimage to Ghana. Shareefl, a real estate investor, spoke to a few chiefs about land being offered to African Americans for development. He has returned to Ghana and also visited Senegal since that trip. Bilal Shareef is currently working with a real estate development group that offers investment opportunities to those interested in repatriation to the continent. The investment we’re discussing today comes with risk. Like any investment, you should research before making any financial commitment.

I asked Shareef how he came to work with this developer group. He spoke to connecting with this developer in Atlanta, where they developed multi-single-family developments. They are offering opportunities to invest in similar developments in Senegal and Ghana.

During our trip to Ghana, which included a business conference, they emphasized the need to develop middle-class amenities. I asked Shareef if hotel/resort development was in response to this need. He explained that this is an opportunity to uplift a community and provide affordable access to living and visiting the continent.

Shareef encourages those who may be interested to attend an open forum with the developers. They are offering fractional and outright ownership in the development. All questions and concerns will be addressed. You can text AFRICA to 678.321.1818.

I asked about his experience in real estate and how this became his career. He speaks about always wanting to work in real estate after working with a mentor who preached entrepreneurship. He mentions his role with the Empire Board of Realtors and his love of our community.
