Many folks are talking about leaving a legacy and using home ownership as one way to do so. Another way to leave a legacy is with financial instruments, trusts, stocks, and insurance. One option to leave a legacy is with a collection of art. African artists throughout the diaspora are experiencing a renaissance in appreciation by institutions and in value.
Najee Dorsey founder of Black Art in America joins us today to speak about an easy entry point to increase or start your collection. Fine Art prints. Najee Dorsey welcome back to The Local Take.
Dorsey speaks about the Black Art in America Foundation and their works with arts programs, gifting art, and muralist programs. When looking at art as an investment Dorsey cautions that you can’t guarantee an increase, recently there has been an overwhelming appreciation for Black Art and Artists. Many contemporary artists have seen their work increase in value while living.
