This week on WCLK's The Local Take(Saturday mornings 8am) we're talking to community members to collect their stories about life during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I spoke with Avigbor Boyd. a fashion and beauty entrepreneur who has made her living doing natural hair. When the government shut-down came as a single mother she knew she would have to pivot.
Avignor began making masks. While she isn’t making the same amount of income she made from doing natural hair, she is making enough to make a difference for her family.
I asked when she might return to being a hair stylist and she expressed some fear. A client is interested in getting her hair done this week, and she isn’t sure yet how it will work safely.
