The Local Take: Black History Month with PNC Bank

Saturday morning on WCLK's The Local Take(8am each Saturday), I catch up with PNC Bank to discuss Black History Month. For the last four years, The Local Take and PNC Bank came together to host a Black History Month breakfast for their employees and the public. In late February at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, we gathered each year and honored unsung heroes from Business, Sports, and the Arts. Black History vignettes from each group would air on the Jazz 91.9 WCLK to promote the breakfast.

This year due to limitations on public gatherings, we are broadcasting the "Best of PNC Bank BHM Vignettes."

One of the brains behind this annual celebration is Courtney Smith, Community Development Market Manager with PNC Bank. I invited Courtney to speak with us about how they came to produce this event.  He shared that the programming has been one of the best-attended events by their associates and clients. The event has sold out each year since its inception.
Courtney spoke about PNC Bank having over 60 branch locations in metro-Atlanta to serve any financial needs. He also shared their support community engagement around several areas, including affordable housing.
