While not the best known of the Marsalis brothers, Delfeayo Marsalis is an NEA Jazz Master who has made his name as a band leader and trombonist with technical chops and creative musical instincts. On his new release on Troubadour Jass, Make America Great Again, he assembles his Uptown Jazz Orchestra for a wide-ranging effort that sounds both modern but also makes a nod to the great New Orleans jazz traditions of the past. You can hear cuts from Make America Great Again at various times on WCLK and WCLK HD2, particularly during Serenade To The City Monday-Friday overnights 10pm-2am.
