Jazz 91.9 will host the Inaugural Jazz Music Awards in 2022. This awards show will honor the Jazz genre front and center. I asked Wendy Williams to share information about the upcoming event.I ask Williams about the genres of Jazz that the awards show accepts. She speaks about everything from mainstream to smooth to vocalist and instrumentalist. The awards show will occur October 22, 2022, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. Williams also shares that the deadline for music submission has been extended to May 30, 2022.The station will celebrate fifty years in 2024, and I ask Williams if she thinks the Inaugural Jazz Awards will become an institution. She speaks about this being an awards show to highlight jazz musicians and their craft, where many only include jazz musicians as an afterthought.
